Considering a few days in #Svalbard next August. The Arctic has been calling to me for the last 25 years. (Shamed that I really have to fly there, which is rather shit.) When I’ve crossed the Arctic Circle I can lay my polar dreams to rest. Any recommendations for tours, guides, anything else near #Longyearbyen?

@Annaspanner For the best sights around Svalbard you need to spend time on a ship, ideally one small enough to provide zodiac landings. I would recommend Aurora Expeditions or Southern Sea Ventures (both Australian companies bizarrely). Not cheap! A good day trip from Longyearbyen is to Pyramiden, the abandoned Russian mining town.
@ianhodgepig Thank you! Zodiac sounds great, I’m excited for that! We are sort of prepared for not cheap - remote usually means spendy and also noobs like us are happy to pay people to help us not get eaten by polar bears
