Dear Community,

We live in a time when open-source software plays a vital role in technology. The innovative power and diversity that arise from open-source projects are indispensable for many of us. However, these valuable initiatives need our support to continue existing and thriving. Many of these projects are run by dedicated developers and volunteers who tirelessly work to improve and develop their software.
Unfortunately, this passion is often not sufficiently financially supported. Open-source software allows us to access a wide range of tools and resources that not only facilitate our work but also promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
By supporting these projects, we contribute to an open and inclusive technology world where everyone has access to critical technologies.
To ensure the longevity and sustainability of these projects, it is crucial that we all do our part. Even the smallest donation can make a big difference. Consider whether you have the opportunity to support your favorite projects. Perhaps you also have the ability to actively contribute to development or provide feedback to further improve these projects.
Let’s work together to ensure that the open-source community continues to flourish! Your support can help these projects provide innovation, diversity, and free software for everyone in the future. By pooling our resources and commitment, we can build a strong community that values and promotes the benefits of open collaboration.
Thank you for your commitment!

Setting myself the goal of learning how to set up a server (under #linux), & setting one up in the bachelor pad. Mainly for photos, music, films & documents. Currently using #LinuxMint all round. Any pointers on where to start? 🙃

That's quite a beast for humble linux gamers.

「 The biggest selling point of the TUXEDO Stellaris 16 Gen7 laptop is its 1000 nits HDR (High Dynamic Range) mini-LED matte display with 2560×1600 resolution, 100% sRGB, 16:10 aspect ratio, and extremely fast 300 Hz refresh rates. The new display is paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 24GB GDDR7 graphics card 」

#Linux systems are not just something for power users. My 78 year old mother has used a #Debian desktop system for 20 years since she retired from an MS Windows office job. No, she hasn't done the install herself. No she hasn't fixed major problems herself. But, also she never did those things with Windows either. FAI will reimage a machine faster than you can debug some stupid problem. A bootable live USB can be enough fallback to get you in remotely to fix something fully broken.

🐧 AlmaLinux OS 10 Released as a Free Alternative to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 - 9to5Linux

「 While Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 only supports the x86_64-v3 architecture, AlmaLinux OS 10 also extends the life of EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux) for the x86_64-v2 architecture. This ensures that users with older hardware will continue to receive security updates for another 10 years 」
